Electric Bookshop Late Lab 04/04/2012

As part of the Edinburgh Science Festival, there will be a special Electric Bookshop Late Lab at Inspace with some fantastic special guests. It’s all very exciting.

The guests are:
David Benque, the mind behind the Infinite Adventure Machine developed as part of an experimental project with Microsoft and The Royal College of Art, London as a way for computers to write fairytales.

Adrian Hon, the director of Six to Start – producers of dazzling and award-winning transmedia storytelling experiences, working on a fasdcinating array of online game and storytelling projects with Disney, the BBC and Penguin amongst others.

Jon Ingold, Creative Director and Narrative Designer at Inkle Studios, where a combination of games industry experience and storytelling talent have spawned a new breed of studio, focussing on compelling interactive experiences for the new breed of tablet computers. Inkle Studios’ forthcoming Frankenstein project, in partnership with Profile Books, is a step towards bringing non-linear storytelling to the mainstream.

Twin Engine Labs will be joining us virtually – transcending time-zones and distance via the magical medium of Skype. Twin Engine Labs created The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Morris Lessmore App in collaboration with Moonbot Studios. If you haven’t seen this marvellous app then check out the lush video…

Substitute your Horlicks for a chilled cocktail and join us for an evening of exploration of the future of books and stories.
